11 Weeks and Counting....well hopefully

So here we are 27 weeks along....hoping for just a little over 11 more weeks till we meet our new addition. Maybe once we see him we'll be able to settle on a name. I know that you are all probably thinking..."Janna plans everything...how on Earth has she not named this child already?" Well here's your answer...none of this was planned. Tony losing his job and going back to school, getting pregnant, none of it...so we're trying something new over here at the Giles house....we're just "winging" it. The nursery furniture is ordered but won't be here til the end of October, the room is not painted, there is still a desk in there that is not staying in there, the rocking chair needs to be re-stained and the baby has no name. But you know what?! I'm OK with that....they say with age comes patience....maybe I'm getting "aged." We did finally agree on bedding for the crib...that's in the room with all of Parker's baby clothes and some of his 3T stuff that doesn't fit. I figure when the furniture comes I'll move the tubs of clothes out....wash what I think I'll be able to use, put it away and pack up the 3T stuff....but there's no rush...not this time. Parker's nursery was finished by the time I was 24 weeks along...the furniture came and I had the bedding there and "TA DA" it was finished...this time not so much. But its OK I'm not stressed...just relaxing and counting down the days.....92 to go in case you were wondering....but we're hoping for more like 80 :)

Oh and tough loss last night for my Gamecocks.....but its OK...its just ONE game...GO GAMECOCKS!!!!!!!

Our New Addition

Here are my 3D ultrasound pictures. He's pretty cute and looks a lot like Parker in his 3D pictures. I can only hope he is half as cute and sweet as Parker is :) if he's just as cute and sweet...well then I'll be one lucky mommy!

Harbor Island, SC 2010

Here it is the official beach post. This year the Giles clan headed to Harbor Island, SC which is about 90 min from HHI, SC and about as remote a place you can find. The entire "island" was the neighborhood in which we stayed. There is no cable, no internet (well none at our house) and no grocery store. There is a little pizza place, a little "grocery" store and one restaurant...which by the way was awesome. There was a lot of nature...dolphins, birds ( the island is a bird sanctuary), deer, crabs and of course mosquitoes. It was a sad trip....my SIL, BIL and niece couldn't make it and it isn't our usual summer destination. I had grown quite familiar with the Gulf Coast and we had our fave little places to go out. The trip was still relaxing and fun...but different. the drive is certainly better and on the way there we stopped in Statesboro to show Parker GA Southern and have lunch at one of our fave old places. So all in all a good time. We spent our mornings on the beach...until I could no longer tolerate the INSANE heat (heat indexes of 105-110 with 70% humidity) and then we'd head in for lunch and head down to the pool. Parker "surfed" for the first time and swam in the ocean like a fish. We played Yahtzee, Go Fish and UNO Moo every night and generally was on no schedule....aaaahhh.

Us at Dingus Magees...for those non GASOU people..this is a restaurant frequented by those in the Greek community at Southern and a bar at night where many a drink was had.

Apparently Parker doesn't like the smell of old cigarettes and beer.

Flying a kite all by himself....(that is not the house we stayed in BTW)

Body surfing in the waves. Tony took him out into the big waves and he rode them all the way in and LOVED it!

The beach.

Our Family

Parker was too short to climb the lighthouse...but we convinced the lady to let him do it anyway....he wanted to climb that thing more than anything...and he did it! 186 steps each way!

Daddy and Parker at the start of their climb

All the boys at the top...Parker is that little red dot all the way to the right :)

Parker standing outside the lighthouse

The boys playing Go Fish....Parker won...as usual

An annual picture that I take...Parker 2010

Parker's new favorite thing....shrimp boats. They come really close to shore here and they usually have a trail of dolphins behind them...pretty cool

Parker discovered drinking out of cans. He said he likes to drink out of cans because "makes me feel like a grown-up" please don't grow up too fast little boy

Another beach tradition built by Grandad. last year it was a firetruck...this year a tank. Complete with shell armor

Thanks Nanny and Grandad for an awesome vacation. Can't wait til next year's trip....when we have a new addition to take along :)

It's a BOY!

So today was our 20 week ultrasound. It was awesome...everything was in its proper place and the baby is looking pretty big....measured 21 weeks and 6 days...I'm 20 weeks and 4 days. OB insists it is too early to worry about how big this little guy is but that we'll watch it and change my dates if necessary. So for now its still a due date of December 26th...but we're hoping for a wee bit earlier than that. No need to spend Christmas at good ole NSH unless you're getting paid to :)
We also have no names picked out.....so feel free to comment and add some suggestions...the middle name is Daniel (for Gramps)
Here he is:

Tiny Foot
Tiny Hand

Boy parts :)

Parker was MESMERIZED by the ultrasound machine. He was saying "Look there's his hand" "I see his eye" Maybe he has a future career :) He is so excited and is going to be AWESOME big brother :)
